I like to bicycle around neighborhoods when it gets dark. When all the houses have their porch lights on and the street lamps cast my shadow on the pavement. I keep warm with my scarf; it touches just under my lip and the ends ride the wind as I peddle. I like to see all the houses, looking so comforting and warm. As I pass by, I see glimpses through large windows of cozy kitchens and family living rooms. And I just feel happy. I’m not sure why. But sometimes, I wish I could just stay like that forever. Just riding my bicycle at night, when the air feels so good through my hair and I can see the tiny, tiny stars pricking the indigo sky.
